JOHN SHEA (’70) is coming home!!! The Emmy Award-winning actor/director/producer is headed back to Bates for the 2022 Bates Film Festival! A second-generation Batesie, Shea has played dozens of memorable roles, but he is perhaps best known for his turns as Charles Horman in the Academy Award-winning Missing, Lex Luthor in Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, and Harold Waldorf in Gossip Girl. He has also written and directed two features, Southie (1998) and Grey Lady (2017), and committed himself to many social justice issues. Shea has been awarded a Human Rights Award from Amnesty International and a John F. Kennedy Award for his contributions to Irish American culture. Join us in late March and early April to spend some time with this Bates legend!!!
