Alexis González is a senior from Hanford, California. She is double majoring in Rhetoric, Film, & Screen Studies and Environmental Studies with a minor in Hispanic Studies. Her work focuses on storytelling at the intersection of film, environmental justice, and Latinx representation. This fall, she developed her senior thesis examining how Latinx farmworking communities are represented in the media. Through both research and creative work, Alexis is committed to amplifying underrepresented voices and exploring the power of narrative to drive social change. On campus, Alexis works as an IT Service Desk assistant, a Residential Life Community Advisor, and a peer mentor for the STEM Scholars program. She is also the President of the Raíces Unidas affinity group, and hosts the weekly WRBC radio show “Spill The Tea.” After graduation, she hopes to work in the entertainment and film industry, advocating for nuanced representations of marginalized communities and using storytelling as a tool for connection and impact.
