Summer Barnett is a Bates College junior from New York City.  She is majoring in Rhetoric, Film, and Screen Studies, minoring in Education, and pursuing concentrations in Film and Media Studies and Knowledge, Action, and the Public Good. She has worked for the Rhetoric, Film and Screen Studies department as a Teaching Assistant and an Advisor for the Bates Film Festival. Throughout her time at Bates, Summer has loved teaching in the local community. Since her first semester she has worked as a Kindergarten teaching assistant at the local Lewiston elementary school. Additionally she has enjoyed tutoring students after school. Summer’s interest in the Bates Film Festival began while attending the 2022 BFF. She has been waiting excitedly for the opportunity to work on this year’s festival!
