Alex Voight-Shelley is a senior, completing her degree with a double major in Psychology and Theater and a minor in Rhetoric, Film, and Screen Studies. Her majors reflect her interests in the intersection of human behavior and theatre and film arts. Alex wrote an original stage play for her thesis in Theater and has worked behind the stage for Bates theater productions, most recently as an Assistant Stage Manager for The Gravediggers Union by Brian James Polack. Outside of academics, Alex is a leader on the Bates College Golf Team, and works as a residence life junior advisor. After earning her undergraduate degree from Bates, Alex will attend King’s College London to pursue her masters degree. Alex hopes to one day work within the film industry as a writer and producer. She has always had a passion for film, recognizing its potential to inspire, empower and create change. She is more than excited to be a part of this years festival!
