Oliver Wan

Oliver Wan is a senior at Bates College majoring in Environmental Studies, minoring in Rhetoric, Film, and Screen Studies, and pursing a concentration in Digital Computational Studies. He recently completed his senior thesis on the future of American offshore wind energy, looking specifically at the economic and environmental impacts of increased integration of offshore wind turbines to the power grid. On campus, Oliver is an informational technology help desk assistant and a member of the Manic Optimists (a capella group).  In his free time, Oli, who hails from Hong Kong, loves to ski, listen to Justin Bieber, photograph and edit landscape images, and go on long runs. He is currently training for the Boston Marathon after running his first marathon in Portland last fall.  After graduating, he hopes to enter the field of renewable energy and continue living in the United States.
