Matthew Chlastawa

Matthew Chlastawa works for Teach for America as an English teacher in the Rio Grande Valley.  He is also a member of Puerto Rico’s National Men’s Lacrosse Team.  Chlastawa graduated from Bates in 2020 with a degree in Rhetoric, Film, and Screen Studies and very fond memories of working on his class’s Bates Film Festival.  After a standout lacrosse career as a Bobcat, Chlastawa spent his last year of eligibility at Fairfield University, where he earned his MBA. This summer, he will compete in the World Games Lacrosse qualifiers in Colombia, representing Puerto Rico. Chlastawa plans to attend law school after fulfilling his commitment to Teach for America.
