Gillian Coyne

Gillian Coyne holds a bachelor’s degree in Rhetoric, Film, and Screen Studies and French and Francophone Studies from Bates College and a Master’s degree in Film Studies from King’s College London.  As an undergraduate she volunteered with Immigrant Legal Advocacy Project, helping French-speaking asylum seekers receive legal aid, in addition to co-running the French and Francophone Club and participating on the club sailing and equestrian teams.  Gillian served on the 2018 Bates Film Festival Board of Directors and the 2019 Bates Film Festival Restructuring Committee. During her senior year, she received a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant Award to Luxembourg.  Gillian has worked for film festivals in the U.S., U.K, and E.U., where she is currently a screener for the Luxembourg City Film Festival programming team.
